Write for us

We welcome pitches that begin with a specific object and lead to a clear, well-supported story about its material, making, movement, use or meaning. Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option.

What we welcome

Strong proposals make a focused point about a particular object or closely related group of objects. They may explain a design choice, compare two materials or forms, trace a change over time, or show how use differs between settings. The subject should suit a general reader and offer context without leaning on stereotypes or treating one example as universal.

What to include

In a short pitch, name the object and the central question, say what the reader will understand by the end, and outline the information or sources that can support the piece. Mention any relevant experience plainly, without inflated claims. An outline or sample is useful when it helps demonstrate the approach; a finished article is not required for an initial proposal.

What we look for

We favour specific observation, readable explanations and a point of view grounded in context. Avoid pitches that depend on unsupported origin stories, broad claims about entire populations or a product recommendation disguised as editorial coverage. Sending a proposal does not guarantee publication.
